Hey Kids,
I’m back with another life lesson, so buckle up and get ready to write this one down.
When you make a mistake, and trust me, you will (your mistakes will be legion), it’s best all around if you admit what you did wrong and fix it, if at all possible.
Sounds simple, right? It’s not.
Sometimes it seems an insurmountable task for you to admit when you’ve messed up. You spend time worrying about whatever happened, and trying to find a way to avoid the repercussions.
Face the music – the quicker the better.
It takes a fair amount of maturity to not only fess up when you’ve done something wrong (whether it was purposeful or not), but to also work on correcting whatever happened.
If you accidentally break someone’s window, let them know what happened and pay to have the window fixed. Just ask Opie.
Now, before I end this little DDD, I’m going to tell you that some mistakes are easier to fix than others.
Be careful with your actions, as well as your words. Fences can not always be mended, windows can not always be replaced.
Friendship, family, and feelings matter.
Love you more than you could possibly know,
Mom
P.S. – Call me. Wherever I am, whenever it is, I’m sure I’m missing you right now.
