Keegan, Kaleb, & LK (Little K),
Growing up, my siblings and I were always taught not to be wasteful. You ate what was on your plate, and you learned to take care of your possessions.
We were also raised to not throw something away if it could still be utilized. There was always value somewhere.
Despite these life lessons that Grandma and Grandpa instilled in me, or maybe because of them, I’ve had to learn that it’s okay to donate or sell items I no longer have a need for.
Now, I know what you are thinking, “Mom, you have a sh*t ton of books.”
I do, however they are considered a collection. An important one that I have no intention of getting rid of any time soon.
Collections are okay, as long as they don’t get out of hand.
I also believe, and Grandma Lovette was a firm believer in this, that it’s okay to keep a few personal items from your childhood that hold special value to you.
Just don’t keep everything.
There’s something cleansing and liberating when you are able to declutter your life.
So… get rid of boxes, donate items, and stop buying things when what you already have will work just fine.
Love you,
Mom
Goals for Today:
- Do Dishes & Clothes (This is a constant chore/battle.)
- Make Potato Salad
- Declutter the Lid Drawer (It’s getting pretty full and why am I always keeping Cool Whip containers?)
