Keegan, Kaleb, & Khloe,
You are probably tired of hearing about fundraisers. All three of you have spent many Fridays at PTO events, selling popcorn or collecting pop cans for bottle drives. You have been roused from your beds for early Saturday mornings to head to various stores to sell candy bars or other items for different sports teams. The work that you did to help out your teams was important. The money raised at each and every event was impactful in some way to aide different causes, whether it was raising money for equipment for the high school weight room, or new practice jerseys for the basketball team. It meant something.
As you get older, and you begin the journey of making your own money, please remember to stop and support different causes.
Go through the car wash that the local wrestling team has organized, even if your vehicle was washed the day before.
Stop by and buy a hot dog from the 4-H group that is raising money for an out-of-state trip.
Pull over for the lemonade stand the neighborhood kid has in his front yard – whether he’s trying to raise money for a new bike or to buy a bag full of candy from the local grocery store.
Give extra. Tell them to keep the change.
Do some good in life.
