Dear Keegan, Kaleb, & Khloe,
They talk about it at school. We’ve had numerous conversations on the topic as well. However, it just can’t be overstated enough that you need to be careful with what you post and share online. Anything can be shared by others. Screenshots can be made without you knowing about it. Just be careful.
I strongly believe there are many positives about various Social Media apps and websites. Family members and friends who are scattered all over the world can now share and interact with ease. There’s a special piece of magic with that. The world is a better place because of it.
On the flip side, however, there are also kids who are bullied, threatened, and ruthlessly teased online. This leads to teenagers feeling as if they are in a hopeless situation with no solution in sight. Ultimately, this can then push some children to harming themselves, or worse.
Listen to me and please listen good: Nothing is ever that bad or that hopeless where a person should feel that the world would be a better place without them or that they can not overcome the despair they are feeling.
Talk with me (or someone), if you are ever feeling that way.
In the mean time…
Have fun. Send funny pics. Film silly TikToks. Create memories, and support your friends.
Just please do not create images or take pictures that you would not be okay with sharing with everyone. Do not say mean things about others that could be shared with people and hurt their feelings. (You shouldn’t say mean things about other people anyway.)
Be a kid. Do normal ‘kid stuff,’ but use common sense.
Love you,
Mom
Goals for Today:
- Go Fishing with Dad
- Revise my Query Letter – (Yes, I know. I’m supposed to be finished with that already.)
- Check my Social Media Accounts – Just kidding. I’m going to ignore them. I have no desire to see different pics of what people ate at a restaurant or their latest video of the family dog playing in the backyard. Social Media give me a headache, but to each their own.
