    Weekly A1C/Ozempic Updates

I am one month away from being on Ozempic for one full year.

I’ve had ups and downs the past 11 months, but mostly I have had positive, successful results.

This post is an update on Week 48 of my Ozempic journey. If you’d like to read about my experience starting from the beginning, please click here.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. While I have been blogging now for a year, I still often feel new at this. I enjoy the writing aspect and I also look forward to reading any comments that visitors leave.

    Side Effects:

Everyone talks about that feeling of ‘fullness’ while taking Ozempic. I myself have talked about that very same thing in these weekly posts. Sometimes, it’s not just the sense of feeling full, but more like an overwhelming feeling of, ‘if I take one more bite, I may get sick’ type of thing.

This past week was definitely a time that I felt this. It’s not like you feel so sick that you can’t go about your daily routines/chores, it’s just in regards to the food aspect.

My burping and gassy side effects were minimal the last couple of weeks, which was nice.

    Sugar Levels:

    I did it.

I went to the doctor’s and had my A1C checked. The doctor’s office called me a few days later with the results because I had some other bloodwork done as well.

That being said, my A1C number was 6.9!

The physician assistant who called to give me my results said my number before that was 8.0. I forgot to ask her when that was, because I think there was another A1C check that was in the 7s, but I’m not sure now.

Anyway, I’ll take 6.9. I haven’t actually been very well-behaved when it comes to some of my food choice (ice cream, chocolate, pasta, and I can’t forget all of the strawberry jam), so I’m lucky to see anything beginning with a 6.

A quick Yahoo search tells me that I should be closer to 6.1 or 6.2, but at least I’m heading in the right direction.

I also feel a great deal better physically when my glucose levels are stable.

    Weight Loss:

I lost almost a pound since my last weigh in (-0.8 lbs).

This past weekend, Brian and I went shopping for new clothes before school starts. (I absolutely, emphatically, 100% hate shopping for clothes. I have since I was a little girl.)

The goal was to get in the store, grab some shirts off the rack, pay and head home. I have enough pants and pedal pushers to last me, so the focus was shirts.

We went to Kohl’s and I headed straight to the women’s section. We were there approximately 20 minutes or so and I was able to leave with five shirts that were all a size smaller than my clothes I bought last year.

While it would have been nice if they were two sizes smaller than before, it was still a win.

Still Working Towards a 60 Pound Weight Loss

My 1-year mark for being on Ozempic is fast approaching.

I’d really like to at least make it to a 35 pound weight loss before then. I have one month to do it in.

Maybe if I get there, I can think of this next year on Ozempic as the push to get to my final weight loss goal.

I enjoy having challenges in life to look forward to – whether it’s for weight loss, financial goals, or job-related objectives.

I need to keep my focus on what I would like to achieve, and push myself to do so. (Seeing my children’s books in stores is the ultimate dream for me as an author, but I’m working on that as well.)

I need to put in the work.

    Goals for Today:

    • Clean out the ‘pots and pans’ cupboard – I have way too many…
    • Work in the Classroom
    • Find Time to Write
