If you are new here, this blog category is all about following my journey as I use Ozempic to lower my A1C.
I’m also sharing how the medicine is aiding my weight loss, along with any side effects from the weekly injections.
Thanks for joining me as I document my journey!

Side Effects:
I’m continuing to experience nausea with the weekly injections. I find that the most difficult days with any stomach issues and/or gas problems, seem to occur in the two days directly after I take my weekly shot.
This past week, Friday and Saturday were the most difficult days for me with being nauseous, however I was still able to do all the activities I would normally do (i.e. go to work, attend Khloe’s basketball game, etc…) I did not have any throwing up incidences to report.
My Psoriasis has been enflamed lately, however I don’t think it’s related to the Ozempic. I went to my dermatologist today and she believes it’s due to stress, coupled with my Enbrel not performing as well as it should. I just thought I should note the increase in Psoriasis issues in case there may be a link to Ozempic.
Sugar Levels:
Overall, my blood sugar levels have been okay, although I have had a few numbers in the mid, to high, 200’s. Usually this happens after I eat something I know I shouldn’t eat.
I did go to my doctor’s this week to check my A1C. I was hoping for a number in the 7’s, but it was 8.0.
My A1C number is dropping, but not as quickly as I would like.

Comments From My Doctor at My Recent Appointment
I mentioned above that my A1C was down to 8.0. It was a drop, but not a very big one.
(The doctor did say that the holidays tend to mess up everyone’s A1C checkups in January.)
My doctor was happy with the drop, along with the weight loss, however she wondered about increasing my Ozempic dosage. Currently, I take 1 Mg injections once per week. It was suggested that I try to go to 2 Mg injections, once per week.
I did tell the doctor that I had one bout of sickness due to the Ozempic, but I was willing to try the change. She said that if I find I can’t tolerate the increase in dosage, we can always decrease it again.
I guess we will see.
I’m curious to find out if the injection pen is larger to hold more medicine, or if you get two pens for the month, instead of one.
I’ll find out once my pharmacy has the medicine in stock. (Sometimes it takes them a day or two to get the Ozempic in.)
I’ve been updating my Weight Loss Tracker with my weight loss/gain, along with adding my blood sugar numbers into the book. It helps me stay on track and I can keep notes in the book of good days/bad days, and maybe just things I’ve notice.
