Another Ozempic post, another week gone.
I’m continuing on my Ozempic journey, happy and optimistic with the results.
This post is my week 43 update. If you would like to read about my journey starting from the beginning, click here.

Either way, thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts on Ozempic.
Side Effects:
This past week was definitely a week of Ozempic burps. They were continuous, they were loud, and they were stinky.
It was disgusting.
I’m not sure what I eat differently that causes certain days to have more of the burping than other days. If I knew, I’d tell you. Keeping a food log would probably help me with that.
I actually think that there are probably people out there who would not be on Ozempic simply due to the burping side effect.
Aside from all the gross Ozempic burps, I did mess up this week. On Sunday, I took my Ozempic injection after a full day of eating.
It was a rookie mistake.
What happened was that we had been away for a few days and I forgot to take my shot prior to us going on a mini vacation Up North. Brian reminded me to take my shot Sunday evening, and I didn’t think. I just did it.
Well, I had a small lunch, followed by a salad and baked potato from Texas Road House (I may have had a roll or two), followed by a banana split in the evening. That combination of food prior to an Ozempic injection is a not a good idea.
I was up all night with stomach issues. I never threw up, but I was nauseous and just feeling awful.
You know when you see a deer alongside the road that was hit by a car and has been there awhile? Their belly is bloated and extended with their legs pointing straight out to the side?
That’s how I felt.
It’s week 43 and I shouldn’t be making these types of mistakes with Ozempic. The negative side effects can be manageable if you remember certain things – one of which is to never take Ozempic with a full stomach of food.
I’ll do better next week.
Sugar Levels:
I haven’t been checking my glucose levels as often as I should. This is mostly due to the fact that it’s summer and my schedule seems to fluctuate all the time. One week we are Up North at the cabin, the next week we are at home. It’s just been hard to stick with a routine, but I’ll get better.
I did wake up last night not feeling well. My face was flushed and I felt a little dizzy. The first thing I thought of was my sugar level, so I went and checked it. It was 132. That’s still high for the night, but not bad for me.
When I do check my sugar, the numbers have all been promising. I 100% believe this would not be the case if I was not taking Ozempic. The medication has really done the job for me when it comes to helping me control my Type 2 Diabetes.
I plan on making an appointment with my doctor to check my A1C level before I return to school. I’ll make sure to post the results. I would be very surprised if it hasn’t gone down to semi-acceptable levels.
Weight Loss:
Well… I knew the weight loss streak was going to end sooner or later. I gained 0.6 pounds this past week. It’s not quite a pound, however it was a weight gain.
It’s really not too surprising. I’m not staying away from the candy and the carbs like I should be.
I really like chocolate. There’s just something about it that helps me get to my ‘happy place.’ I’m working on a little self-control in that area, but if I’m honest, it’s been a losing battle.
I initially wanted a weight loss of 40 pounds for the beginning of the summer. Will I be able to get there by the end of the summer?
More than likely not, looking at my pattern, but possibly I can get to a 35 pound weight loss.

Confessions of an Ozempic User…
I’ve been lazy about this entire Ozempic journey. If you are reading my blog to gain insight on whether or not Ozempic could help you lose weight, I’m not sure I’m the best model to be checking in with.
I eat pasta, potatoes, candy, ice cream, etc…
Ozempic doesn’t do all the work for you if weight loss is your primary goal. It doesn’t do all the work for you if lowering your sugar is your primary goal.
What Ozempic has done for me is definitely give me that sensation of being full much faster than I normally would be.
Part of me feels like I’m wasting an opportunity that has been given to me. I’m abusing the food choices and not eating anywhere near as healthy as I should.
I could say that week 44 will be a new beginning – a time where I start to really focus on the food choices and not just taking a magic injection each week.
I will try, but no promises.
Goals for Today:
- Work on Pinterest for an Hour or so
- Send out Five More Query Letters for Literary Agents
- Sit at the Kitchen Table and Look at the Water (I’m Up North for a Few Days without Children)
