Side Effects: There were a couple of days where I ate too much and felt like I was going to throw up. I never did throw up, but I can see where some people may be frustrated on Ozempic if they continue to feel nauseated. For me, the feeling doesn’t last long and it’s not impactful enough to forgo the medicine.
Sugar Levels: I have continued to monitor my sugar levels with my glucose meter. Most of my numbers are exactly where they should be – in the mid 100’s. There are times when I see numbers still in the 200s, but those times are few and far between.
Weight Loss: I gained another pound for week 7 and then stayed the same for week 8.
- Week 1: -4.5 lbs
- Week 2: –1.5 lbs
- Week 3: -1 lb
- Week 4: -2.8 lbs
- Week 5: -1.6 lbs
- Week 6: +1 lb
- Week 7: +1 lb
- Week 8: +/- 0 lbs
- Total: -9.4 lbs
Summary of the First Two Months on Ozempic
I’ve been taking the 1 mg dose now for 3 weeks and everything has been going well. I will be curious to see how my A1C has been affected by being on the medication. My next doctor’s appointment is sometime next month.
I like that the medication is just 1 dose per week. Also, I know I’ve said it before, but the actual injection does not sting or hurt in any way. I don’t dread the injections the same way that I do with my Enbrel shots.
It would be nice if I could see more of an impact on the scale. I need to do better with some of my food choices.
Goals for Today:
