Side Effects: Everything has pretty much stayed the same. I do have bouts of being hungry, but for the most part I’m skipping meals without even realizing it. There was one day where my stomach felt fairly queasy. I ended up going home early from work, which is not a typical thing for me. After a long nap in the afternoon, I felt better. Brian and Keegan were also feeling sick the same day, so I’m unsure if my symptoms were related to the Ozempic.
Sugar Levels: Overall, I am still seeing good numbers on my sugar meter. I did have an episode once this past week where my face started to get warm and my ears were hot. I told Brian, “I better check my sugar.” Sure enough, it was over 300. It was completely my fault – well, mine and Grandma Lovette. I was thinking of her and decided to make warm tapioca pudding just like she used to make. I ate two bowls. There may have also been Cool Whip. It’s super good when it melts onto the pudding. I’ll try to do better.
Weight Loss: I lost 2.8 pounds for week 4 on Ozempic.
- Week 1: -4.5 lbs
- Week 2: –1.5 lbs
- Week 3: -1 lb
- Week 4: -2.8 lbs
- Total: -9.8 lbs
Thoughts From the First Month
I’m happy that I’m doing something about my sugar levels. I am also happy that the medicine is impacting my weight in a positive (or would it be considered negative) way.
It doesn’t feel like it’s been a full month of taking the medicine. I’m glad that I started it when I did.
