I take my Ozempic injection of 1 MG routinely Wednesday evening. There’s no specific reason for this, except that I received my first dose on a Wednesday and decided to start right away.
The injection itself takes me less than a minute to get out of the refrigerator, dial up the dose on the pen, inject into my stomach, and then store the rest of the medicine back into the fridge again.
I would say the pain level is either a 0 or a 1 on a scale of 1-10. (I take Enbrel for psoriasis and that injection has a pain level of a 4 or so because of the sting of the meds as they enter your body.)
Side Effects: I feel as if I have experienced limited side effects to using the Ozempic. I discussed the burps that feel as if I’m going to vomit in an earlier post. There’s also, of course, the overwhelming feeling of being full, even after only a few bites of food sometimes. Beyond that, I don’t notice anything different, in a negative or positive manner.
I read an article about Ozempic being tied to hair loss, but I have not experienced that as of yet.
Sugar Levels: I’ve had a few high moments this past month because of all the Holiday food and treats. I have a New Year’s Resolution in place (theoretically) to work on this. They will continue to get better.

What Now?
I need to stay focused on continuing to get healthier. I’m excited about inching closer to the milestone of losing 20 pounds. I’m optimistic that weight will continue to come off in a slow, steady, manner.
A year or two ago I created a Weight Loss Tracker and uploaded it to Amazon. I am back to using it to help me track these first 12 weeks of 2024.
Goals for Today:
- Organize the ‘Catch All’ Bowl on the Island
- Make Crepes with my New Crepe Maker
- Fold Laundry
