Side Effects: I will still have occasional times where I feel like I may get sick, but it’s not often. There was one time this past week where, in the middle of the night, I felt like I may throw up. I was fine though when I woke up the next morning. Beyond that, I still don’t always feel like eating, but I haven’t noticed any other side effects.
Sugar Levels: My sugar levels are continuing to surprise me with numbers in the 100s. I will occasionally see high numbers still, but I always know the reason why (ice cream at night before bedtime is not a good thing).
Weight Loss: I lost 1 pound for week 3 on Ozempic.
- Week 1: -4.5 lbs
- Week 2: –1.5 lbs
- Week 3: -1 lb
- Total: -7 lbs
Thoughts From Week 3
I think if I’m being honest with myself, my lesson from this past week is that I can not just eat what I want just because of the Ozempic. Eating a drumstick (or two, I’m trying to be honest here…) right before bedtime is going to make my sugar go up, no matter what medication I am taking.
Another thing I have noticed from this past week is that I don’t worry about the number on the meter as much as I did before. It doesn’t feel as if it’s a race to a lower A1C, but more a journey. Hopefully everything continues in the right direction.
